Parents of children in those schools are paying the tax, along with everyone else. I don't know off hand how many districts have included charters with their parcel taxes. Currently in Oakland, we are working to put a parcel tax proposition for increasing teacher compensation on the ballot next year, however, the issue of including charter schools has slowed momentum.
