175: number of school days this year in many California schools

  1. Five days here, five days there, what’s the difference? In the rest of the industrialized world they are well over TWO HUNDRED days a year.
    I work 235 days a year, and that’s with five weeks of vacation (counting legal holidays). Kids and their teachers should be scheduled similarly. It would take a lot of pressure off the school year, reduce backsliding, and allow more time for all the good stuff.
